About Tone

Tone lives in Oslo and has worked since 2016 as a product manager at Vinmonopolet, responsible for wines from Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Greece in the standard and specialist ranges. Her passion for wine started in Italy, where she lived for five years while studying interpretation and translation at the University of Perugia.

She began her career as a trade analyst for the Italian Trade Agency in Oslo, focusing on the food, wine, and fashion industries. From there she moved on to wine import at Vinordia and later to the role of managing director at Symposium Wines.

Throughout her career she has also completed a Master of Management at BI in economics, leadership, and marketing, studied negotiations at Harvard, become a certified court interpreter in Italian, and qualified as an authorised Oslo guide.

Alongside her position at Vinmonopolet's head office, Tone is a lecturer at the Culinary Academy for both sommeliers and WSET Diploma students, and she is involved in the Master of Wine programme's own education track. She is also a judge at the world's largest wine competition, the Decanter World Wine Awards, and has participated in projects such as Brunello Forma and Norsk Vinskue.

As a writer she has published articles on jancisrobinson.com and in Vinbladet, among others, and she is a frequent guest on wine podcasts.

Wine Courses & Education

Tone offers wine courses for small and large groups, both in Norway and abroad. The content is tailored for private individuals, companies, wine clubs, and/or educational institutions seeking everything from an introduction to the world of wine, deep dives into specific topics based on grapes, regions, and countries, food and wine pairing, to technical tastings exploring tasting technique and sensory analysis. The difficulty level is always adapted to each group's needs. Regardless of topic, the wines tasted are carefully selected to provide both learning, flavour, and 'aha moments'.

Courses can also be combined into modules over time, for groups seeking rapid progression, deeper expertise, and close follow-up. Central and atmospheric venues as well as quality glassware can be arranged as needed.

Tone places great emphasis on a pedagogical approach and is especially known for her unique ability to communicate complex content in an engaging and clear way.
